Unity Conference impacts teens’ lives

By Josue Castro, AZSBC Hispanic ministries facilitator –

In June, more than 240 youth gathered to lift the name of Jesus during three incredible days full of worship, leadership training and times of prayer at the Unity conference. It is amazing to see young people worshiping God from the first hours of the day until the sun goes down, receiving a message that challenges them to serve God from their youth with their gifts and talents, as it is exciting to see that they are committed to live in holiness and freedom in Christ.

Teens representing 13 churches throughout Arizona, including the cities of Phoenix, Somerton, Douglas, Mesa, Tempe, Sahuarita and others, attended the event, which was held at Tierra Fertil in Yuma.

The conference included workshops by guest speakers who covered topics like college ministries, worship, and workshops specifically for youth pastors.

The purpose of this conference is to spark a passion in this generation to proclaim the good news and to be a kingdom-minded church. It was incredible to see young people create and reaffirm their relationship with Jesus and see their lives transform within those three days in the conference.

This was the fourth consecutive year of the Unity conference, and, every year, we see it grow more and more into something great that is truly impacting lives. None of this would have been possible without the Cooperative Program and the churches that give to keep advancing in the mission that we were called to fulfill.
