Easter outreach yields results

By Shannon Jennings, Aletheia Church, Sedona –

Thank you to all who have given through the Cooperative Program. Every dollar you give helps to change lives all over the world! This is exactly what happened at Aletheia Church, a North American Mission Board church plant in Sedona on Easter Sunday. Aletheia Church was launched in 2014 by my husband, Josh Jennings; me and our 3 preteen kids.

Sedona is the New Age capital of North America, and only 3% of the population attend church. Many churches have started in Sedona and within a year or two, they call it quits because it is such a lost community and the interest in the gospel is very little. BUT GOD … began to work in our church and community over the last four years. The support from churches all over our country and through NAMB has helped to give our staff encouragement, prayer support, and financial support, and God used this in a miraculous way this past Easter.

Through Cooperative Program funds and the support of the Arizona Southern Baptist Convention, we were able to mail 6,900 Easter postcards all over our city. Easter weekend, we hosted three services: Good Friday and two on Easter Sunday. Between the three services, we had over 240 people worship Christ. We had 180 on Easter, with 16 new families visiting the church. The best news of all is that five people accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior! God is doing some amazing things in Sedona and I want to thank you for helping us financially this Easter.

Please pray for our staff as they lead Aletheia and strategize over how to reach out to the families that visited the church on Easter weekend. Pictured is an amazing lady who came to Christ on Easter Sunday. She was heavily involved in the New Age culture of Sedona and she has been raised to life in Christ. She is growing in her faith through discipleship, and she is active in our greeting team and working with our children. Thank you to all who are supporting missions through the Cooperative Program. Your gifts are changing lives!
